Effective date: September 4, 2026
Minnesota Mobile Mechanics LLC (“Minnesota Mobile Mechanics,” “we,” “us”) repairs vehicles at our customers’ locations across the Twin Cities metro area. To do that work we need some information about you and your vehicle. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language on purpose.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to schedule, perform, and bill for repair work.
- We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
- We share it only with the service providers who help us run the business, and only for that purpose.
- You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you.
- You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you call, text, email, use our website contact form, or book a job, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the address where your vehicle is located, and details about the vehicle (year, make, model, license plate, and VIN) and the problem you describe. If we perform work, we also record the services performed, parts used, mileage, and payment details.
Payment information. Card payments are processed by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our own systems. If you pay cash, we record that a cash payment was made. If you apply for financing, you provide your information directly to the financing provider, and their privacy policy governs that application.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, standard web technologies collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you reached us. See Cookies and analytics below.
Information from others. We may receive your contact details from a referral, a third-party booking or review platform you used to reach us, or a vehicle history service when you ask us to look up a vehicle.
2. How we use it
- To schedule, dispatch, perform, and follow up on repair work.
- To send estimates, invoices, receipts, and service reminders.
- To communicate with you about your vehicle and your appointment.
- To process payments and maintain accurate business and tax records.
- To improve our services and our website.
- To comply with law, resolve disputes, and protect our rights and safety.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
3. Phone calls and text messages
Call tracking. Some of the phone numbers shown in our online advertising are forwarding numbers provided by Google. When you call one, Google records the call’s date, time, duration, and the caller’s area code so that we can measure whether our advertising is working. Google does not record the content of your call unless we tell you at the start that a call is being recorded.
Text messages. With your consent, we send text messages about your appointment, estimate, invoice, and service updates through our shop management system. Message frequency varies with your job. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and HELP for assistance. Your consent to receive text messages, and your mobile number, are never shared with or sold to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only as described here. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
- Service providers who help us operate, including our shop management and invoicing platform, payment processor, phone and text messaging services, email provider, website host, and analytics and advertising measurement tools. Each is permitted to use your information only to provide its service to us.
- Parts suppliers, who receive vehicle information needed to source the correct part. They do not receive your contact details.
- Vehicle history services. Our shop management system may report completed service records (vehicle identification, date, and work performed) to vehicle history services such as Carfax. If you would prefer we not report your vehicle’s service, tell us before work begins.
- Financing providers, if you choose to apply for financing.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of a customer, our mechanics, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Minnesota Mobile Mechanics is sold or merged, customer records would transfer to the new owner under this same policy.
5. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies from Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand how visitors use the site and to measure which advertising brings customers to us. These tools may recognize your browser across visits and, if you clicked one of our ads, connect your visit to that ad.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. To opt out of Google’s use of cookies for advertising, visit Google Ads Settings. To opt out of Google Analytics, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no common standard for how to interpret them.
6. How long we keep it
We keep service and payment records for as long as needed for warranty purposes, accounting, and tax law, generally seven years after the last transaction. We keep contact information while you remain a customer and for a reasonable period afterward so we can honor warranty claims and service history requests. Website analytics data is retained according to the settings of the analytics tool, typically 14 months. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How we protect it
Your information is stored in access-controlled systems available only to authorized personnel who need it to do their jobs. Data is encrypted in transit. Card payments are handled by a payment processor that meets industry security standards, so full card numbers never touch our systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and we will notify you as required by law if a breach affects you.
8. Your choices and rights
Whether or not a particular privacy law requires it of a business our size, we extend the following to every customer:
- Access. Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correction. Ask us to fix information that is inaccurate.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete your personal information. We will do so unless we are required to keep it, for example for tax records or an open warranty.
- Portability. Receive your information in a common, machine-readable format.
- Opt out of marketing. Tell us to stop any promotional messages. Transactional messages about a job you have booked will continue until the job is complete.
- Opt out of text messages. Reply STOP to any message.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details in Contact us below. We will verify your identity by matching your request to the contact information on your service record, and we will respond within 45 days. We will not charge you or treat you differently for making a request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office.
9. Children
Our services are for adults who own or are responsible for a vehicle. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your information, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
